Terms & Conditions

1.    SOLE PROVIDER
For reputation-management and food-safety reasons, all cakes for your event must be supplied by Soolicious Cake. If any cake is provided by an individual or company other than Soolicious Cake (including groom’s cake). We reserve the right to leave your venue without setting up your cake, and all payments made to us will be forfeited. We will dispose of your undelivered cake at our discretion.

2.    DEPOSITS
a)    We require a 50% non-refundable deposit for all orders exceeding $100. This payment serves to hold the date of event or wedding and is payable at the time of confirming orders. 
b)    The final payment is due 14 days prior to delivery or pick-up date for custom cakes. 
c)    Due to being a small shop, we can only take so many orders per weekend. If an order is cancelled, any payment made on your order is non-refundable and non-transferable. All cancelations and changes are required 14 days prior to the date of pick up. If canceled at least 14 days prior to the pick-up date and time, we will be happy to transfer any payment made on that order to another order within 3 months from that date.
3.    REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
a)    Due to the tedious, handcrafted nature of our products, we are unable to provide refunds or exchanges for custom orders.
b)    Once you or a designated party has picked up an order and signed for it, it is considered "accepted" – we will ask to make sure that everything is correct such as the design, flavor, message on the cake, etc. Refunds requested due to decorating style, writing, color shade, or general design will not be honored after signing for your cake. In some instances, you may bring the cake back in for design adjustments, but this is an additional charge if the cake has been signed for.
c)    All products are the responsibility of the customer once it leaves our shop. We are not responsible for any damage occurring to the cake during transport, set-up or any time thereafter. You will be given instructions on how to carry, transport, and store your cake upon pick up. Keep in mind that cakes are very fragile, and damages can happen if not handled properly – such as cracks, smudges, melted frosting, etc. We only give refunds in accordance with refund policies stated below.
d)    We will not offer refunds for missed pickups.
4.    CANCELATIONS 
a)    If you wish to cancel your order with us outright, we must receive notification of your intent to cancel your order in writing. Changes and cancellations to retail orders are accepted up until 14 days prior to the date of pick up. We are unable to make changes on orders after that time frame. No refunds will be provided for any payments made on the order no matter the amount - if canceled at least 14 days in advance we will be happy to transfer any payment made on that order to another order within 3 months from that date. We will provide no other refunds regardless the circumstances. You will be required to pay the full amount if the order is cancelled with less notice. This does not apply to orders that have contracts.
b)    The retainer payment (to secure your cake order on our calendar) is non-refundable and non-transferable. If we receive an order cancellation request less than two weeks prior to your event date, the balance payment is still due, and is non-refundable and non-transferable.
c)    Cake tasting payments are non-refundable and non-transferable if the appointment is canceled less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled time of pickup (in the case of a "to go" Cake Sample Box) or less than 72 hours prior to the scheduled consultation time (in the case of an in-person tasting with the chef). We require payment in full of your tasting fee on the day of pickup the Cake Sample Box or in-person consultation. by 72 hours prior to a scheduled in-person appointment, to give us enough time to prepare your chosen cake flavors. 

5.    DELIVERIES
Our cake deliveries are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis with a charge determined by distances. If your event is taking place during peak season (May through September) and your cake is otherwise eligible for delivery, this is not a guarantee that we will have the capacity to deliver your cake. In these instances, your cake may need to be picked up from the bakery instead. We will discuss the options with you based on our availability.

6.    FRESH FLOWERS
If you wish to have fresh flowers arranged on your cake, it is your responsibility to supply the flowers. In choosing to have fresh flowers arranged on your cake, you acknowledge that fresh flowers are not food products, and may be toxic or contain pesticide/herbicide residues, dirt, insects, and/or other contaminants. All responsibility for the freshness, color, overall condition, and cleanliness of the flowers rests with you (and/or your event florist). If the fresh flowers for your cake have not been set aside on or near the cake table (for ease of locating them upon our arrival at your venue), then we reserve the right to set up your cake without fresh flowers. The nature of our cake delivery schedule typically prevents us from staying behind at your venue to wait for the flowers/florist to arrive. 
7.    POST-SETUP PRECAUTIONS
Once the cake assembly/setup is complete at your event venue, Soolicious Cake is not responsible for any damage to the cake other than damage that occurs as a result of improper construction/production. If your venue is outdoors, it is your responsibility to take the necessary precautions (shading, level ground, insect netting, wind protection, temperature control, etc.) to ensure that the cake remains intact beyond initial setup.
8.    GUARANTEE/ DISCLAIMER
a)    We do all that we can to make sure that your order is decorated to the specification on your written order form. Upon pick-up of your cake, adjustments can be made for an additional charge if it was not stated on your original order. If for some reason something is not decorated correctly as stated on your order, we will make necessary changes right away. 
b)    Every order is hand-made. Decorative finishes are done by hand and are subject to the artistic interpretation of our expert cake decorators. You may provide us with a photograph for inspiration and duplication; however, we make no claims for exact duplication of the work done by other cake decorators.
